Heavy duty diesel particulate tier 4 emissions standards need new higher temperature solutions than traditional exhaust wrap. Heatshield Products has your heavy duty exhaust insulation covered. We have custom exhaust jackets, heat wraps for your exhaust & more. All catered to meet your needs and budget restraints. We offer OEM programs and replacement equivalent to OEM parts.

How an exhaust insulation works: By insulating the exhaust you focus or redirect the thermal energy where it belongs- in the exhaust system. This causes the exhaust gases to be thinner, this enables the gases to flow more quickly out of the system. The increased speed pulls the exhaust gases and intake gas through the cycle faster. This can lower intake temperatures up to 50 percent. The benefit is making cooler intake temperature which can create more power and improve fuel mileage.

Direct contact vs standoff & all metal exhaust heat shields: Standoff exhaust heat shield utilizes a gap between the pipe and heat shield. This allows heat to escape from the exhaust system and radiate up, out, and around the standoff heat shield. This can reduce hot spots in the floor pan, but will still lead to general floor pan heat. Most clamp on heat shields, just conduct heat though the metal stand off to the “cold” heat shield. The same thermal conductivity dynamic also occurs with the all metal heat shields. The hot side metal directly touches the exhaust and conducts heat to the “cold” side metal of the shield. Using a textile to de-couple the thermal energy is a distinct advantage to the Armor exhaust heat shields. With the Heatshield Armor, you control the direction you want the heat to go, instead of just hoping it goes the right place with a standoff heat shield.

Exhaust heat shield vs. heavy duty exhaust pipe wrap: An exhaust heat shield, such as our Heatshield Armor are usually easier to install vs. a diesel exhaust wrap. The armor also has an outer shield to protect them after they have been installed. This guards against water and the elements. It also gives an advantage to off-road applications, where an exhaust wrap may be snagged and fray from brush or other hazards. Exhaust wraps generally reduce 40 to 50 percent of radiant pipe heat. The Heatshield Armor can reduce up to 70 percent of heat.

Heatshield Armor insulation products feature our exclusive BioCool™ technology. BioCool™ is a non-caustic, non-flammable insulator made from a bio-soluble silica. It does not cause itching and has limited smoke or smell the first time it is heat-cycled. Capable of withstanding 1,800-degrees Fahrenheit continuous it was developed to be a tier 4 and DPF heat shield and can be die stamped for OEM applications.

Whether you are looking for the economical solution of an exhaust wrap, the custom fit of a heat shield exhaust jacket, or the hybrid between the two, we have you covered. All of Heatshield Products exhaust insulations is made right here in the USA.

Proposition 65 requires businesses to provide warnings to Californians about significant exposures to chemicals that cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. These chemicals can be in the products that Californians purchase, in their homes or workplaces, or that are released into the environment.
