Improve the efficiency of your turbo by retaining heat inside with a heat shield. Using a turbo shield can increase boost, reduce turbo chatter or flutter, and help keep the turbo from lagging!

How they work - A turbo heat shield works much like and exhaust wrap or exhaust heat shield would. The turbine heat shield goes on like a bag to retain heat inside the turbo. This causes the exhaust gases inside the turbine to become hotter. This enables the turbo to spool up more quickly. Turbo blankets also help keep the turbine and compressor wheels spinning, when on and off the throttle. This is very useful when road racing and launching in and out of corners. It can even help recovery times when going A to B down the track. In addition to aiding the efficiency of the turbo system, these turbo blankets can also reduce under hood temperatures by as much as 60%. Lowering your under hood temps, will lower intake temperatures, adding even more power!

Unlike the all metal turbo heat shields, our turbo shields do not have the hot side to cold side conduction of heat. The high temperature textile directly touching the turbine housing “decouples” the heat from radiating into and outer alloy shell. This radiates less, and lowers underhood heat even more than an all metal shield.

Buyer beware of the cheap turbo blankets often found on some auction sites. Many of these are import shields that use flawed materials. In addition the construction quality is not what it should be. You can tell a quality constructed shield when the hem or joint of the turbo heat shield is on the inside, not sticking out like a tab.
