Mantle heat shield can be used to protect fireplace mantles from excessive heat and damage. They may also be used to shield TV’s and sound bars located above a fireplace. This heat shield reflects and dissipates the heat radiating up and out of your fireplace. By using this mantle heat shield, you can protect the finish on your mantle and prevent the wood or drywall from drying out and cracking. Excessive heat damage is the number two cause of premature failure of electronic devise. In many modern homes, it is common to see a TV and sound bar located above a fireplace, using this heat shield can protect these components from fireplace heat.

Color Changes are Optional and Will Effect Performance

Doing a color change on the MantleFlect™ Shield is possible. Any paint that will bond to aluminum is okay to use. However, keep in mind, changing the color and reduce the reflectivity rate of the shield down from 90% to as low as 50 or 40%. Painting the MantleFlect™ Shield will hinder its ability to reflect radiant heat, but the Kool Core™ insulation will still reduce radiant heat.

Easy to Install For DIY and Pros

MantleFlect™ Shield can be cut easily with a pair of scissors or utility knife. The kits include edging tape to hide seams and edges. The strong adhesive backing is a little tricky to start, but will stick to any clean smooth surface and provide years of protection.

Can you install the MantleFlect directly on TV?

Yes you can! You must be careful to not cover and vents that might be on the TV. This allows the internal electronics to breathe. Covering and solid portions of the TV case is fine.
