Sticky™ Shield is the ultimate way to stop heat from radiating from your vessel's engine room! Made from a dense layer of 1/8” fiberglass insulation shielded by a rugged layer of .003” thick corrosion resistant aluminum.

Sticky Shield is a great way to insulate vital components such as electronics in and engine room and protect radiant heat from escaping an engine compartment. The shield ships folded and includes edging tape for ends and seams to make extremely water resistant. It is not recommended to be used on instances where fibers may be raised out of resin on the back side of a panel. The adhesive is tricky to start but is very aggressive and will provide years of service.

Q. Do I need tin snips to cut HP Sticky Shield

A. No, Sticky shield is cut easily with a pair of heavy duty scissors or utility knife. Tin snips will actually struggle with cutting the insulation on the sticky shield.

Q. Why don't you recommend HP Sticky Shield for rough unfinished fiberglass or carbon?

A. Self adhesives are not capable of filling in the small gaps, valleys and indentations of unfinished non smooth surfaces. This significantly reduces the performance of the adhesive backing. Spray adhesives are more capable of filling in these surface imperfections.

Q. Can I screw HP Sticky Shield into place?

A. Yes you can, if you want to add a screw or rivet in addition to the adhesive backing it is okay to do so. We just recommend using a large head rivet or fender washer.
