No, reinstalling the factory heat shield will not be an option after the turbo shield has been installed without some heavy modification. It is also not necessary to install the factory shield this offers 80% better cold side performance vs the stamped metal heat shields.


Is this heat shield built to work in the snow? Does getting it wet affect its performance?

The Lava Turbo Shield is highly resistant. If it is used on a snowmobile or on a SxS in the snow it will not be hindered by bad weather. Also the outer lava rock cover is highly water and chemical resistant.
